The REDRESS study is looking at whether a stem cell transplant from a half-matched family member can be a safe and effective treatment for adults with severe sickle cell disorder. A stem cell transplant is currently the only potential cure for sickle cell, but many people do not have a fully matched donor. This research aims to find out if using a half-matched relative could help more adults access this treatment, improve their quality of life, and reduce the serious health problems caused by sickle cell. Participation is voluntary, and this treatment is only available through the study at present.
