Patient Representative Support Office, MDT Co-Ordinator and Data Manager

Emma has worked for the NHS for over 30 years, with more than 20 of those dedicated to Haematology. She spent 12 years working on the day ward caring for patients with Sickle Cell Disorder before moving into her current roles within the NE&Y HCC and haemoglobinopathy services. She now serves as the MDT/Data Coordinator for the NE&Y HCC and HBO services and has recently taken on the role of Patient Engagement Lead. In this capacity, she works closely with the NEY HCC patient representatives’ group, supporting their meetings and helping to deliver clear and consistent communication across the HCC.

The role is vital in coordinating and managing regional MDT, business meetings and coordinating the referral process, record and disseminate outcomes. The role includes data management for patients with haemoglobinopathies, with a particular focus on such as sickle cell disorder, and involves close collaboration with data managers, clinicians, and nursing staff across multiple location, ensuring data accuracy and collaborates with healthcare professionals to standardise data processes, for the annual SSQD. Emma works closely with the network manager and assists in arranging and booking patient events and education days which are run by the NEY HCC.
