Solome Nanziri

Solome is a sickle cell patient, and it affects her everyday of her life. As a result, she takes each day of her life as it comes, after all, life is not a race. She has a BSc (Hons) Health Sciences, MSC Public Health /Health Promotion. She is now a PhD student in Nutrition and dietetics, looking at African Migrant women and their psychological well-being in the UK.

She is a proud mother of three, a public speaker about sickle cell disorder and blood donation awareness because they are close to her heart. She decided to speak out about sickle cell disease so that the general public, politicians and health professionals could get a better understanding of the disorder, so they can help those who suffer from it.

Solome is a co-author of a book titled “The many faces and lives of sickle cell, a global collaboration”, which is available on Amazon. And she has authored “Born beneath the veil of pain, a windroof journey with sickle cell disorder, which will be available on amazon in December 2025.

Solome is the founder of Solome’s Sickle Cell Foundation which helps to sensitise about sickle cell disorder
